I'm trying to set the IsRasterView
I have just started a new job that uses inventor 2011 and at my previous job I was using inventor 2012-2014. The newer version of inventor had i-logic forms which I could create to use as a configuration for parts, I was wondering how I could achieve this in inventor 2011. I need to be able to set nozzle height and angle location for balance, thanks.
Is there a way to adjust the assembly and the parts automatically adjust as well??
I'm not sure if I"m doing this right.
Here's what I did so far. (Attachment with pictures and steps)
This is an assembly file of a 10' trex rafter that goes to a pergola. Inside of the rafter is an aluminum tube.
What I'm trying to do is save and replace component to make it whatever length (ex: 12') and make the aluminum tuber extrude itself without replacing or saving it.
Picture 1: What I did as fasr was I created (place component)
Picture 2: I drew what I wanted. Right click on the component and the sketch and hit adaptive.
Picture 3: I extruded the component
Picture 4: I placed the constranint
Picture 5: I set up the relationship of the adaptivity between the other side
I hope you understand this.
I am just curious but why cannot this part use mates in assembly.I try and constrain in assembly but gives no options
Hello, I would like to map an image to the face of Inventor part document. Which possibilities Inventor API offers here? I checked out the ColorMapping example but the tessellation of the flat surface is not sufficient to get high resolution image mapped on it. My intention is to attach images to several parts faces within the assembly environment and this as fast as possible since the scene needs to update very quickly. Thanks in advance!
PS: I use C#.NET.
Maybe this is really simple, but I can't figure out how to NOT include a surface of a part when I do a rendering. (i.e. I only want the solids.)
Turning off visibility doesn't do it..
Is it possible to get the COG to update its self automatically when I change an assembly / part without having to turn it on and off again? At the moment, as soon as I change a part it just goes grey and has absolutely no use (shows where the COG was, but not is). Obviously this is a bit pointless, so is there a way to make the COG automatically update without any input from me?
I know I must seem really lazy with this, but its just been getting on my nervs a lot recently!

I have a back plate made out of 2mm Glavanized Steel.
And here is the drawing of this back plate flattened out:
You can see that the cut is 5mm between the back plate and bended out part. This part will be laser cut, instead of being pucnhed out.
Here comes the challenge- No matter what is the distance bethween bended out part and back plate laser will consider there to be two lines for it to cut *one line on the back plate and one line for bended part. And laer will go there two times even if I will make distance of 0,01mm. Is there any way to make this cut as one line, so laser will make one pass cut?
Will be waiting for some solutions on this.
Is this by design?
In 2014 when saving an image using the Camera.SaveAsBitMap method the saved image aspect ratio seems distorted by width / height.
If the width and height are set to the same value the ratio is correct.
We have an issue where we are trying to bend a 1mm sheet with a 24mm radius.
The one side must come out 105mm wide and the flange must be 50 mm wide. inventor gives a flat pattern width of 143.4
If we bend using a brake press and a 24mm tube blade then it wont come out the right size. its like the flat pattern isnt big enough.
we get the 50 mm flange but whats left over is 99 and not 105. How do we deal with something like this?
When opening a part file or a new file i get the model browser with all the features listed, but i cant see the model itself. The screen remains grey. Any ideas? Ive attached a picture.

The program get about 3/4's loaded and the error report pops up..
I Bend a 100x100 square plate by using "emboos" command.
I am wondering that if this can be done by using "bend" or other command in sheet metal mode.
I have tried without success.
The bend radius = 500mm
The plate should be bent symmetrically along the center line.

I use inventor 2014.
Design view representations in an iPart file are not included in the generated members after installing Inventor 2014 SP2 (and also in Update 1).
In the attached part factory, the two work planes are included in the members. They would need to be individually set invisible in each assembly view representation because the members only have the Master view representation.
I want to use loft feature between two non-parallel sketches. I am not sure about problem in loft creation. I have attached part model with this message. Can anyone help me to overcome this problem ? Sketch 3 is upper profile, 3D Sketch 1 is lower profile and 3D sketch is rail profile.

I have a question for all the mould designers out there! How do you control the number of side actions when designing multi impression tools?
I recently completed a job for a customer where the requirement was to have a 2 impression tool with one side action to control both of the impressions. I found that if you pattern a part within the mould design environment and then apply a side action, the side actions would be copied to each of the patterned parts. I have created a test part to try and illustrate this (which is way out of size and proportion!):-
Even if I combine the inserts, I still get the same effect.
Anyone have any suggestions to over come this?

I have a bent glass file that i am trying to flatten in Inventor Pro 2014. It is not allowing me to flatten it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to flatten this file or if it is even possible with Inventor?
Why does a sketched symbol have a SetColor function even though it doesn't do anything?
For example, this is "legal" code, but it won't do anything.oSymbol.Color.SetColor(255,0,0);
On the other hand, this is the proper method to set the color of a sketched symbol (I could not find this anywhere in the api)oSymbol.Color = _mInventorApplication.TransientObjects.CreateColor(255, 0, 0);
Is this an error, or is there a reason for this that I don't see? Intellisense seems to suggest that the setcolor function should be valid.
HI this is just a little question,: what problem(s) would you like to solve? By problem I mean problem in your everyday life, like something that complicated your life, not an emotional or psychological problem.
Why when I mirror a part in an assembly the mirrored part gets a new part number? I want to mirror only the position of the part which is always the same part. Is it possible to do that in Inventor?
