AutoCAD LT

I don't use hyperlinks in ACAD for my application so I am illiterate on the subject, but a friend of mine in Salt Lake wants to. 

 

His setup is full ACAD 2012

No idea of system specs

================I am trying to create a hyperlink in AutoCad.  It is basically attaching information on existing blocks.  ie. a Phoenix Contact Power Supply with attached .pdf file to it's datasheets that I have created.
 
The problem - I can do this on my computer but I get an error message - bad file extension - when trying to receive the file.  I can go directly and open the .pdf file where I saved it but trying to do it through the AutoCad hyperlink I get the error. I wanted to factor out some issues so I tried to do the same thing on Vernon's [the boss] computer and it worked with no issues. So, the problem is with my office computer here at work.  

Question - what could be causing the error message of "bad file extension"?  What should I check?

Shortly around the time I signed in to Autodesk 360 I began to have problems with how I interface with the program.  I have AutoCAD LT 2013 and, having used the programs for 20 years, I use the AutoCAD LT Classic format for tools and menus.  Also due to how I learned CAD in the early 90s and with many abbreviated commands, I use the keyboard extensively. 

1. Certain actions using my mouse have stopped working (i.e. Right-click to edit hatch or blocks). Basically a "recent input" menu comes up each time, showing a short history of my commands. 
2. When I click on an object, from the top bar I can no longer edit using the pull downs for Layer, Color, Line Type, etc.
3. I can only edit via the Properties menu or through typing in commands.  However when I go to change a setting in the Property menu, the boxes with an ellipsis do not respond at all.

There are other issues that have cropped up but those are the ones that I can remember for now.

I'm using the autocad lt 2013 for Mac (trial version) and i'm having dificulties in finding a way to make dwf files.

It's suposed to creat a dwf in the export comand, but it only allows me to make pdf and dwg blocks.

 

Can any one help me?

How do I make a leader, no text, no landing, grippers on both ends.  Everytime I go to grab the gripper on the non-arrow side of the leader it moves away from me (I believe I am talking about stretch point, but not sure.  The line just moves away from the pointer at an ever increasing speed and distance).

I have used the Search bar in this forum to find information on the above topic but my browser will not let me see what is on the 2nd page or beyond that...

 

What I am looking for is this:

Can a field (or something) be inserted into a drawing so that after the drawing has been printed to PDF, digital signatures can be added by the appropriate people/disciplines.

 

I have looked through all of the available fields and haven't found anything.  I have also seached the web for a good hour and have found a lot of dead ends and others looking for the same answer with little or no response.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

we have bought aclt 2013 and we have got a problem with some files created wtih older versions of aclt.

When we try to open the file (plan), the file name appears but the progress bar don' t move then the file close.

I am running LT 2012 and it keeps freezing at the Loading customiztion files point... This locks the whole pc and I need to do a hard reset. Please help...

I'm working in a surveyors CAD file in AutoCAD 2006 LT and have drawn several new lines on the same layer.

I then selected the dimension enquiry tool to measure the distance between the outer lines but am given the following message - ARX_ERROR - eNot That Kind Of Class.

Anyone know what this message means?

While using trim command in block. autocad lt 2013 gets not respnding and file must be heavy. and after it generate fetel error & shutting down  See the Attachment

I went to use my laptop with autocad LT 2012 which I do not use that much.  When I lookd all the Icons on the tool bars are missing.  The tabs still work but it is hard to figure out what they do.  I have not changed any settings.  Any body have this problem?

I just upgraded from AutoCad LT 2008 to 2013.  I cannot offset a line that is drawn the x-axis.  I also cannot copy an item with the ORTHO command on and run it along the x-axis.  I'm only allowed to move it along the y-axis.  I've now waisted at least three hours messing with every possible command that I can think of trying to fix it.  What do I have set wrong?

I have installed AutoCAD 2012 LT on my work machine, but its coming up with an error - "Customization file load failed. File not found: acadlt".

 

My work machine is controlled by our IT, so the C: drive is locked and I only have temporary admin rights on it. Being a fresh installation, I believe this might be related to the security policies my work machine is under.

 

Any ideas?

I have recently upgraded my AutoCad 2013 LT to 2014 LT and now find the model and layout tabs on the top left hand side under the tool bars. How can I restore this to the standard location on the bottom left as it was in all previous issues. I am using AutoCad in Classic format as previously.

I just want to extract the coordinates and number of survey locations that are represented by point blocks from a drawing.

 

My template is on the desktop and is named

 

TAYLOR EXTRACT.txt

 

BL:NAME C008000

BL:COMMENT C008000

BL:NORTHING N0010003

BL:EASTING N0010003

 

I get the attribute extraction menu

select some points, verify that points have been selected

specify the above template

Specify the export file name

select ok

returns 0 records

 

 

I am running a fully licensed version of AutoCAD 2012 LT on Windows 7.  It worked perfectly the last time i used it (several weeks ago).  Just today, the program will not fully load.  Instead, it displays the load screen for several seconds, pops open the CAD window for just a split-second, then disappears.  No warning message popsup.  I tried everything I could think of:

• Repair (from Control Panel>Programs & Features)
• Reinstall
• Uninstall & Install
• Update Operating system (Windows 7) with all "Important" and "optional" Windows updates

Nothing has worked.  I am out of ideas.  Any solutions here would be GREATLY appreciated.  Here are two tips:

1.  An educational version of AutoCAD 2013 i have works normally.
2.  During the re-install, one warning message displayed this message:

"Failed to find node: //configuration/Connect/V drive in XML file:

C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Content Service/Connect.Service.ContentService.exe.config, system error:

-2147020584"
