How do i make a section view of a 3d object. I made a part now I am trying to take the front view and create a right side section view. I also want to have an isometric view as well. I really wish mac had the base view command. How would I go about this? Also, I am running 2013.
I am trying to create a stair dynamic block... I still have a few things I want to add to the block, but, I'm having a problem with the second array task... The stair will be a "U" shaped stair, stair run 1 is working fine... stair run 2 instantly adds a couple of risers ahead of the stretching action. I can not find the reason for this, any help finding the problem would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
I'm using a dynamic block (file is attached) to set my hights within a section, everything works pretty nice, except for the attribute text.
I have a dropdown list for differnent situations.
Now my issue:
The text for the first 5 points in my list are fine like that, but the last 4 should point me the hight below a celing and therefor flip the text under the little triangle. I tried quiet everything but didn't come to a solution. The flip-parameter only works for mtext but not for attributes and isn't anyway what I'm trying to achieve, because it should automatically flip like the triangle already does. I also can't input second attribute and turn off the first one via "visibility", because I'm running a Lisp which then gets confused if there are more than one attribute in the block.
I'm a little bit frustrated already and hope you guys could help me. :smileysad:
Thanks in advance,
After spending hours and hours in the Apple store with the technicians, spending hours and hours in clean installing and reinstalling, I'm quite sure, that the installed Autocad LT 2014 for Mac causes the graphic problems with my MacBookPro Retina and Mavericks 10.9.1.
It's flikcering and jiggling. Not only within the Autocad application. The complete Mac system is affected.
When I scroll with Safari, Mail, Finder or whatever, flickering. When I move Finder windows on the screen, flickering.
Sometimes, when I move an attachment from the Finder directly into Mail the file is permanetly connected to the hand of the mouse and the Finder is no more working. All other applications still work, but the Finder is crashed. Then I have to shut down and restart the system. This I guess is one of the plenty Mavericks bugs, but maybe might be also affected by Autocad.
Does the "Adaptive Degradation" in the preferences causes any effect? I couldn't see any dfifference.
By the way, when I disable "Adaptive Degradation" and close Autocad, it's again enabled when I restard Autocad.
We have been using our old 16-button GTCO AccuTab digitizer with AutoCAD 2008LT on a computer running Windows XP with the Tabletworks driver installed and everything worked fine.
Now we have upgraded and are trying to use the digitizer on a new computer running Windows 7. We have AutoCAD2014LT installed, and I am trying to use the old 16-button digitizer.
I initally installed the TabletWorks driver that was supposed to work with Windows7 and i found that my digitizer was now just a fancy mouse. If I tried to calibrate or turn the tablet on in AutoCAD, i got the error that "your pointing device cannout be used as a tablet". As a result of reading through posts with similar problems, I found that i needed the WinTab 1.1 driver from vtablet.
I installed ran VTI64B.EXE from vtablet and now i can go into AutoCAD and I can and turn the tablet on and get to calibration options, but the cursor is not recognized.
It appears i now have the reverse problem, as when i started. Initally the digitizer cursor worked as a mouse, but AutoCAD would recognize the tablet...now...AutoCAD seems to recognize the tablet but not the cursor.
Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.
I know little about CAD. I am a printer service tech. We recently installed a Canon iPF765 and the users are having problems publishing. They are a fairly large Electrical Engineering firm with a lot of jobs in archive. So they attempted to publish some files that are about 5 years old and it crashes the printer driver and Autocad. Printing them one at a time they print fine.
Several other jobs I had him try, that were drawn in the last year or so, worked fine through publish.
It seems strange the files print fine individually but crash when using the "Publish" feature.
Anyone have any ideas?
I posted this years ago and didn't get a particularly useful response. So I'll try again with a bit more information..
I'm trying to use auto publish on save to a location that is relative to the working drawing file location: "../tranmittals/current issue"
The default options available to me are no use- the only relative path is a subfolder in the drawing folder which is no use to me, the location has to be as above.
Previously I asked if there was a registry entry or a sysvar I could maul, well it turns out there is:
I can input my preferred location into this key and it seems to work, as when I return to the autopublish dialogue in autocad the path is correct, i.e. ../tranmittals/current issue
The problem now is when it comes to publish time, Autocad fails to parse the ../ portion of the string properly, or even at all.
Looking at the plot log, I get "plotted with errors" the error being "ERROR: Error saving DWF file; DWF file is open or uneditable."
and the rest of the details being:
File: F:\Stage\CADD\jobs\xxxxxxxxxx\Drawings\9000 Series Sketches\93101 LOWER DIMMER ROOM.dwg
Page setup: DWF A3
Device name: DWF6 ePlot.pc3 - plotted to file
Plot file path: transmittals\current issue\93101 LOWER DIMMER ROOM.dwf
Paper size: ISO expand A3 (420.00 x 297.00 MM) Any thought on how this can be fixed?
I have a problem since I switch in a Macbook Pro Retina. When I use the trackpad with two fingers I just can zoom it, no pan. Until now I zoom in it gliding thumb and index finger apart, but it doesn't work :(. In "help" of autocad i found:
"Cancel the touch pad mode by using the Touch option that is displayed by default on the Select Mode panel on the ribbon."
Sadly, I don't find the Select Mode panel :(
I'm trying to make a dynamic block that moves to lines in opposite directions with one grip. currently I'm just using a seperate move action for the other line i'm trying to move. I've attached the block to further drive the point home as I'm having a hard time articulating my thoughts.
ive set up a custom page set up thru the manager with a 36"x24" paper size, imported ctb file as defaults (set as current) specified everything else, and when i tell it to save as pdf i get a message that says cant print to paper size, open paper handling in 'printer option pop-up menu' and scale to paper size.
i must be obtuse because i cant find what printer option pop-up menu with the required boxes to check after. it is looking for a dwg to pdf pc3? when i try to add a printer, the box comes up but doesnt allow me to enter anyting new.
any ideas? lead by the nose to the right place? thanks
Hello,I have created these dynamic blocks and let me know if there is a lisp that can generate one or more columns in the table that will deliver the code for each of the indicated blocks, for the purpose of counting or metering, I have attached the files worked.
I don't know if this is the right place for this question or not (it's about attributes, not so much dynamic, but I might have to use dynamics to make this possible) ... so...
Is it possible to have just one piece of a string of text be attributed? I want to insert a block and once inserted the attributed block panel comes up so that they can only change the number, but I want that number in the middle of a string of text.
For instance: Leak 10 Tester or Leak 8 Tester - but they can only change the number in the middle, not the surrounding text.
I realize I can do this through having different pieces of text in the block (regular text and then the attribute definition), but the words "Leak" and "Tester" need to move depending on the length of the number in the middle. I don't want extra spaces around a single digit because I need room for triple digit, nor do I want the text hitting the number on a triple digit because I only have enough space for the single.
I hope all this makes sense... ha ha...
I bought the mac app store version of autocad 2013 LT. I have not been able to get the menu bar to appear. I have tried the couple of suggestions for this problem I found online (repair permissions and using terminal program) and was not able to resolve the problem. Any ideas?
OS 10.9.1 mavericks
2.8Ghz Intel i7
16 GB RAM
see screen grab below- all i get in the top menu bar is the apple and autocad lt 2013, no 'File' etc etc
Could someone helo me. I use Autocad 2014 for MAC, and, sometimes, when moving an object using MOVE the objects gets deformed. It's like the edge of the line are connected to that point and the likes move, but the edges don't. There's an image attached to show the problem.
I'm brand new to Autocad LT 2013 for Mac. When I try to print a portion of a drawing in model space and it is set for black and white in the print dialog box, not all the lines print black but light gray. What I am doing wrong? I haven't tried to print in paper space yet. Will I have the same problem?
Thanks for your help.

I would like to create a block from an existing drawing and put it into a new drawing. When I come to insert it into a completely new drawing its not there, how do I do this please? How do I save blocks into a folder, to keep everything organised? Working on Macbook Pro with AutoCAD 14. Most gratful for you help.
Just stepped up from AutoCAD LT for Mac to AutoCAD for Mac 2014 and one of the very first things I wanted to do was to extrude text. No go. I've searched the community and find very helpful guidance for exploding text in order to then extrude the outlines, but this appears to work only in the Windows version of AutoCAD. When I simply select some MText and attempt to use the Explode command in my Mac version, nothing happens. Can anyone guide me on how to explode text in the Mac version for purposes of creating 3D text? Thanks!
